This restaurant is overrated, the food is not bad but there are better restaurants. A must of the place is the manteles short rib, the best in the place, and the rib eye with mashed potatoes. For appetizers we ordered a beef tongue tea and barbecue tacos, these appetizers are recommended to be skipped or instead look for another appetizer option. For dessert I recommend the coconut pineapple and the flan, the one that tasted the most was the coconut, it was exquisite, another thing to be grateful for is that it is gluten free and the flan was good but I think there are better desserts. In summary, the best of the night was the short rib, the rib eye and the coconut pineapple. Overall score I would say 4.0

We had an incredible meal at Casa Oaxaca, on the terrace facing Santo Domingo. For drinks, we had a very good mango cocktail, the house mezcal and the house white wine, all good quality. The pumpkin followers were good bite-sized. The crab tostada was flavorful, I recommend it. The salad was very refreshing. Lastly, the main meal was the short rib with mole manchanantel, which was just perfect, sweet and juicy. To finish we had the paesaje de chocalate, which was also very nice assembly of Oaxaca chocolate variations. As an important aside, one of the guests was celiac, and the waiter told us that all moles are gluten free, apart from the almond mole (check with the staff, they seem prepared on the issue). As far as our mole went, we had no problem with gluten. Overall, great experience for a traditional fine dining experience in Oaxaca.
