Catch 54

We dined here with a party of 11 just before Labor Day. I had their crab cakes as did my wife. My wife is gluten free and she rarely gets to eat crab cakes because of that but Catch 54 easily accommodated her. I loved my crab cakes. There were huge portions of crab and very little filler. It was outstanding. My wife felt the same about hers. Her only complaint was that mashed potatoes were lacking in flavor a little. She still ate all of them though. I ad fries and while they were good I was too full to finish them and eventually found something better in the green beans as you will see. Both of my children ordered the chicken tenders. They come with fries and green beans. The chicken (which I tried) was excellent. The star of the show in my opinion was the green beans. Wow were they good. The fries were goo but I would rather have the green beans. They were absolutely superb and I was stealing them from my three-year-old daughter's plate after she announced she was full. This was a first. My father had the Southern Fried Chicken and he loved the chicken. Again, the mashed potatoes were kind of blah to him. They weren't bad but they were just lacking something (at least according to him and my wife). My sister had the steak. She has been a picky eater from the beginning but she enjoyed the steak and ate every bit of it. I will admit it looked really good. I also had the crab chowder with sweet corn. Excellent. Literally my only complaint is I was seated in front of a window that had the bright setting sun in my face. It was near an emergency exit door on the second floor but luckily I had sunglasses so I could mitigate the sun. My father, who made the reservation, had only one complaint and it was we were supposed to be facing the water. The food was excellent. They had a nice variety of beers as well. I look forward to going back again as does my wife, kids, and the rest of our party. The biggest issue we had was finding parking. Catch 54 is added to our list of must go to restaurants in the area.

The atmosphere on the water was great, parking was horrible and it definitely is not Gluten Free friendly in the least.
