I will say for the record that this was the first Chik Fil A that I have had an issue with. Every other Chik Fil A in central ky has been top notch and my family eats them all the time.
The one in Georgetown this evening paid zero regard to request based on my allergy (gluten/wheat). The cashier did not know what to do with an allergy (she was new, no big deal at all) so I asked her to get a manager to come over. She did. Manager came over and said "oh it's no problem, we use tongs, most of the time we don't even need to change gloves." I said that I would really appreciate it if they would change gloves when they made it and also bag it separately. She said "OK, I guess we can do that if you want us to."
Anyone with an allergy knows where this is going. Other manager bring us the bag and my daughters food (breaded nuggets) is in with mine. That manager proceeds to tell me "well noone told me, what do you want me to do about it?" I asked to have a new one bagged separately. She goes to window to kitchen, they throw her new food instantly and she puts it in a bag and says "here ya go". So I asked how she had all that food ready considering they were supposed to change their gloves and she said "oh, we have grilled nugs back there all the time and fries waiting, they don't even touch them with their hands" of which there is zero chance she knew that they didn't. Not a single offer of anything to be kind for my trouble (a free drink maybe? An extra anything? A gift card?) and the fact they could have made me very ill. If they'd have been legitimately apologetic instead of argumentative or even offered something small as kindness I'd have been ok frankly. But instead they argued with me about it and made my experience terrible.
Bottom line (and I'll be posting this on Find Me GF as well) is that THIS particular Chik Fil A does NOT have concern for anything besides their own opinion on what is safe for someone with an allergy.
