This has been our family spot for years when we come for family vacation. It’s 9 times out of 10 a great experience. Some good things. They have great gluten free options. Their orange crushes are the best. And the prices are deff reasonable. Some not so good things. Caution if you sit outside when there is live music, you can’t hear each other talk and will have to yell. Some of their dishes lack flavor. Their peel and eat shrimp are almost inedible due to not being deveined and hard to clean out yourself.

We stopped by Chix on the Beach yesterday for lunch. Our server was very friendly, kept drinks filled, and checked in frequently, however, unfortunately my son in law (who has a gluten and dairy allergy) was served his fish sandwich on a regular bun. After he had eaten a few bites, we asked the server if the bun was gluten free as ordered, she responded she forgot to put it in as such. She did bring out a gluten free bun afterwards, but the damage was already done. Food allergies can be life threatening! I am certain to the server this was just an oversight, but to my son in law it was a ruined night, with potential additional after effects weeks later. I ordered the crab dip, which has gotten excellent reviews, but I found it not to taste like crab at all, but fishy instead. Based upon these two experiences, we will take Chix off our list of places to eat at the beach.

We always love visiting Chix on the Beach. The front patio is our favorite spot, but there's not a bad seat in the house. They have a nice, long bar if that's more your style and plenty of outdoor seating. The menu has just enough options that everyone in your party can get something they want, but without being overwhelmed with options. They're great with gluten free. Our absolute favorite appetizer is the tuna nachos. We really enjoy their salads (pictured). Drinks are made well. Strong, without tasting like medication. Their crushes are some of the best in town. They even have crushes for kids. These are also great when you're pregnant! Haha. Not dog friendly, even outside, unless you have a legit service animal. They have valet parking in the back, or you can street park nearby. Basically, go there. You won't regret it!
