Decided to take the drive to City Winery based on the Best of the Hudson Valley article we read. Unfortunately, it wasn’t what we had hoped for. We didn’t have reservations, so couldn’t sit outside, but that was our own fault. We were there on a Sunday at lunch, so their brunch menu was a bit more limited. They had only a few gluten free choices, but after asking about whether the fryer was used for more than just fries, the server seemed put out at having to find out and informed us that it was a shared fryer, so the fries only for people who weren’t sensitive (maybe don’t put gluten free on the menu then?). That left us with two gf choices. We ended up ordering the breakfast without toast (we weren’t offered any sub for the toast). The food took a while, we didn’t see much of our server again, and the food came out cold. Since we didn’t see our server again, the bartender was nice enough to take our wine flight orders. The wines were really disappointing. Normally, I like most reds, but none of the three of us liked anything except the Sauvignon Blanc. The location is quite lovely, but the food, service and wine were all a massive disappointment.
