Today, I had the lunch buffet for 23 dollars. Total was 28 with a 20% tip. A quiet friday, the place didn't have many people inside. I was so excited this place brought back the buffet after covid closures!!
The waitress was very kind and considerate. When I asked about the food, she helped me out with which options were gluten-free and nut-free! :)
The waitress is also considerate about keeping the tables clean too. Always asked before clearing any plates, even if completely empty for a while.
The food itself was good, but sorta average. Enjoyable. I'm normally a cheapskate, but since takeout items nowadays at easily 20 USD at many restaurants I gotta rate it relatively:
- The paneer saag tasted great at first but then began to taste a bit bitter. Maybe the leaves just needed a vinegar water boil?? I'm not sure why it became so bitter as I ate another round. I don't think it was burnt or anything. Maybe it was because I drank water after eating it?
- The vegetarian coconut curry tasted like something was missing...maybe a bit of sugar?? Its flavor wasn't the most powerful. It was average, but not bad. I'd still eat it if hungry.
- The chicken tikka masala was great! No complaints!
- The rice was rice. Nice and warm, not burnt or undercooked. :)
- The tandoori chicken could've used less salt.
- I enjoyed the rice pudding, but felt perhaps it could've been a little thicker. It was still very enjoyable with cardamom pods inside.
- The fruit salad of watermelon, honeydew, and grapes was a nice addition
- There were other items I didn't try like egg curry and another curry I can't recall.
I'll probably be back to try again and revise my review. I love buffets.
