There's a reason why this place is a favorite among locals! I'm so glad I read reviews from local guides. Clayton's Kitchen has something delicious for everyone and I appreciated their gluten-free and dairy-free options! 100% delicious!

Very good food, generously proportioned. The crab starter was a clever mix of the old and new - a traditional bisque-like veloute complemented by pickled asian pair and spicy crisp kale. However, the chips served with the beef fillet had the distinctive taint of oil fried in one too many times. At this price point, there's no room for such corner-cutting. Even without this mistake, the decor, the terrible acoustics, the nice but not top-notch service belie the high prices (£42 for a venison main). Very accomodating of a gluten intolerance, which was much appreciated.
