Had my second visit to Clos, last time during summer, seated upstairs, a few years ago and this time for the weekend lunch menu during a weekend. We were seated downstairs next to the bar, which was really disappointing as had such lovely seat the last time. Considering the location, it was fairly peaceful but nothing like our seat before. The atmosphere is beautiful, summer or Christmas, and the service is amazing. They are able to cater for dietary requirements(veg + gluten free) without making you feel awkward about it, and are happy to check with the kitchen any additional requests as well.
However, the food overall has been a bit of a let down. My partner’s side dish never arrived, and my meals were average - even for the lunch offer they felt a bit overpriced. I remember having this feeling the last time as well, so this restaurant is not a recommendation for the food, rather for the atmosphere and wine pairings and attentive service. It is definitely an experience, so wouldn’t recommend missing if you’re into restaurants as an experience.
