Stopped here on our drive from San Francisco to Monterey. Took 1.5 hours and set our road-trip back. Chose the restaurant due to gluten-free options. Burger came out on a normal bun. Didn’t want to wait for the kitchen to remake it so literally ate gluten. Their roof blew off so now the toilet is broken? A whole restaurant sharing one toilet. Have disgusting port-a-pots in the parking lot. Update: I didn’t eat the bun, but I’m a celiac and gluten contaminates everything it touches which was the whole burger. You shouldn’t advertise being gluten friendly and then shame people. I’ve never seen a business respond so unprofessionally to a review before. Don’t tell me my experience didn’t happen. That’s ridiculous.

We did not stay. We only visited for dinner. Had an amazing meal today at the Davenport Roadhouse. Quick service and serving. One of the best meals out me and my family have had in recent weeks. Lots of locally-sourced and organic ingredients. Everything looked and tasted great. The four of us shared the Fisherman's Stew, Fish and Chips and the Crispy Calamari Salad. Even our youngest (10) loved it. Remarkably it was all gluten-free (a big deal to me), including the French fries, which we would have eaten many more of if we had the room. You would not know the difference. Great portions. Reasonably priced. They are totally on board with the Monterey Bay Aquarium Seafood Watch program, which is awesome. The house-made sauces are soooo good. We will definitely be back. They also had a shop with various locally made arts, crafts, books and such. My only complaint is that they seriously need to have someone proofread the menu.
