Charlottesville Classic - Great Food - Excellent Service My wife grew up in Charlottesville and has been going to Duner’s since they opened. I have been going there for over 10 years. It was a “go-to” when we visited my wife’s parents and remains so when we are in town. I know that they have gone through ownership and chef changes the last couple of years but everything seems to be corrected and it was great on Sunday night. The service was excellent, thanks to Dillion, who we know from where he worked previously (FCC). I think that the prices are very reasonable. I have seen negative comments about the wine list but found it to be very clear with a large selection of reasonably priced options. If you cannot understand the list, it is easy to just ask your server. The hot bread is addictive to start. The cocktails are well made. The wine came out quickly. The food is consistently good and also came out quickly. They also have a lot of gluten-free options that they label on the menu. It is a little noisy but it has always been that way. It is a small space with lots of people enjoying themselves. Hopefully, the new addition (and renovation?) will address that small issue. We had an excellent dinner and look forward to coming back soon.
