Wife and I booked a table on Friday night and were seated at 8pm. Main course finally arrived at 9.30pm, by which point we were sitting in a mostly empty restaurant. When we chased to find out where our mains were, the waitress responded that ‘the kebabs always take a long time to make’ as if that was obvious and I should have been prepared to wait well over and hour for my food. My fault for ordering the wrong thing off their menu I suppose!
We were also told that it probably just felt like a long wait because the tables around us were empty. I didn’t follow this logic. The tables around us were empty because all the other diners in that part of the restaurant had been served and eaten their meals and gone home by the time ours arrived.
The supervisor did take two drinks off our bill, to her credit, and did acknowledge it was not acceptable. However, our original server just didn’t seem to want to own the problem and admit there had been a mistake - this is frustrating for a hungry diner who just wants to know what is happening with their food.
Food was actually really nice when it arrived and they get great credit for having a full gluten free menu, which you don’t see often. It’s just a shame that when the main finally arrived our enjoyment of the food was secondary to relief that we could finally eat something. I’m afraid to say this ruined the evening.
