I've known this ice cream parlor since childhood, and now that I live 350km away but regularly visit family and friends, a visit to Eisgamba is a staple on my itinerary. The ice cream is truly delicious - I didn't get to try all the flavors during my last visit...😅 and I'll continue in August 👍🏼 The owners are very friendly and know their stuff! Particularly worth mentioning, and important for me for health reasons, as I have celiac disease: You can safely enjoy gluten-free food here!!! That's something you rarely experience otherwise. The owners themselves know exactly what to look for to ensure ice cream with cones (which are available here in gluten-containing and gluten-free versions) are served without contamination. When I asked, they very kindly showed me how the ice cream containers are protected from crumbs. The ice cream scoops are placed in a container with a constant flow of fresh water and a constant drain. Contamination is definitely impossible here! Of course, you should mention before ordering that you need gluten-free food (incidentally, they also offer several lactose-free ice cream flavors). You'll even get a gluten-free cookie with it. The owners and staff are knowledgeable, and new employees are trained accordingly. I witnessed this myself. An absolutely great ice cream parlor - not only, but also for people with celiac disease! After being disappointed at another ice cream parlor, we ended up here and were thrilled. The entire staff was not only friendly, but also extremely competent. Since one of the owners probably has celiac disease himself, all ice cream flavors are gluten-free - even flavors like Cookie! There are also foods containing gluten (e.g. waffles), but the team knows what celiac disease is and takes those affected seriously. As a little encouragement, our son even got an extra gluten-free cookie with his ice cream. That was a really warm gesture that shows that there are people working here who understand the needs of those affected. Anyone who wants to enjoy delicious ice cream - whether people with or without intolerances - has come to the right place. We'll definitely come back, even if it's a little detour for us!
