An unforgettable fine dining experience in Mexico City. Em delivers thoughtful hospitality, incredible storytelling, and innovative takes on Mexican cuisine. Every dish had a narrative, beautifully explained in both English and Spanish by the rotating staff. Shoutout to Ietza (waitress), Daniel, Diego, and Valeria (sommelier) for their warm, flawless service. They were extremely accommodating of my partner’s gluten allergy and paid attention to every detail—even folding our napkins when we stepped away. Dishes were perfectly paced, generously portioned, and beautifully plated. Highlights included the crab & caviar, a black bean tostada with a texture we’re still thinking about, and a New York steak served with the most elegant silverware. Their Oolong sparkling tea, served in a gorgeous glass, was a refreshing and rare treat. This is a place that honors Mexican food while elevating it into something truly special. Highly recommend. — Hunter Sonn

We went to Mexico City for the food and this restaurant definitely didn’t disappoint. Out of the three fine dining places we went to— the others being Rosetta and Quintonil—Em was by far the best & worth the money. Walking up to the restaurant, it is super cute and very small. In fact, there were 11 tables in total (yes, we counted). The meal itself started out strong and ended strong despite them not using gluten in my dishes due to an intolerance. To be honest, I can’t remember the specifics of the food (probably because I was so in love with their virgin spicy margaritas). But, I know I walked away feeling very full and my wallets much happier than after Quintonil. Outside of the food tho (sorry for the lack of specifics) the staff were super nice & we got a picture with the back of the house, a great way to memorialize the moment. Don’t skip on this place!
