Filomena is one of my absolute favorite restaurants in DC. Everything about it is delightful - the food, the service, the ambiance. Decorations are always changing for the season and so fun. The burrata appetizer is seriously one of the best things I’ve ever eaten, and they have delicious gluten free pasta. Love, love, love!!

Epic restaurant with incredibly bold and flavorful food. Decorated for seasons, we got Halloween and it was so fun and festive! It was our last day in DC and it’s my buddy Mark’s favorite restaurant so we had to go as the perfect capper to an awesome week. They were very accommodating to my gluten intolerance—sadly I couldn’t have their Sunday Sauce or the Lobster Cardinale sauces—but a nice creamy Alfredo sauce was tasty. Dessert selection is stunning! A must stop if you’re visiting or just love Italian food.

My second time while visiting Washington DC, that I’ve dined at Filomena’s. We had the Sunday gravy which was absolutely amazing with was served with two huge short rib pieces with meatballs and sausage. Absolutely delicious. They had gluten-free penne pasta, which my partner enjoyed. I had lasagna with both Sunday gravy and Alfredo sauce. It was so absolutely delicious. The bread basket came with a focaccia loaf and a dipping oil that was tremendous. Service was spot on. I do recommend making a reservation. We both enjoyed this spumoni pie. It was absolutely delicious. I have nothing bad to say about our experience! Also, note that it gets a little loud inside of the restaurant. It is also a little tight with seating. To me that’s just a part of the ambience. At the end of your meal, we were offered a choice of an after dinner liquor of almond or Drambuie. There is a parking structure right outside of the restaurant and maybe you’ll get lucky and get one of the few parking spots in the street. This is a must experience restaurant.
