Foundation Bar

Just a PSA for those with celiac disease. The GF is short for Gluten Friendly not Gluten Free. Never heard of Gluten Friendly so didn't spot this until we got there but it essentially means you can eat it if you have a mild intolerance but nothing more. Only the salads are suitable for people who are celiac so a pretty stink dinner, and we were told the noodles would be replaced but they were just removed so pretty much chicken and leaves. Feel like the servers were doing their best though and we're very apologetic so gave service a 4

Foundation used to be my favourite place to go but unfortunately it’s gone downhill in the past year. I went on my birthday and was sat down and never spoke to by the staff again. They had tablets to order, which was fine, we didn’t need to be taught how to use them. However, when we ordered, we ordered entrees as our main (as it was lunchtime) and we requested that they all come out together as mains. My partners came out first, and then the rest of the meals didn’t arrive for another 20 minutes. The food wasn’t the best either, my pork arrived dry and chewy. I went and spoke to (what I believe was the) duty manager, and he replied “oh okay” and then walked off. For the rest of the time we were there, it was obvious he was actively avoiding me. A few weeks after, I went again with friends, but warned them about my previous experience as I was skeptical about going. When we arrived, the service was better to begin with, until our meals arrived. My friend had ordered the fish and chips, and when it arrived it was gluten free. My friend said that she ordered it but not gluten free, and the waitress stood there staring at her and didn’t say anything until my friend just took the food. After that, no one came and spoke to us, not even to ask how the meals were. Saying this, it was a Tuesday night at 7:30pm, so not very busy. All of us were unimpressed by the food again, especially the eye fillet, which was over cooked and had a potato slab which tasted horrible. That was $42, and an absolute waste of money. Safe to say I will never come back here again, and I advice you don’t either.
