I went on a Monday night during the July 4th holiday weekend and they were SUPER busy! I would definitely recommend a reservation if you have a group bigger than 4 during a busy dinner time. I would say if you come during a busy time, you will definitely have a lot of time to decide on what to order if you're not on the hibachi side of the restaurant.
I got a Taro bubble tea, pork gyoza and a tonkatsu don. If you get one of the Don bowls, they are gigantic!!! 1 bowl is a serving for 2 (mine had 2 tonkatsu on it). It was very good and I ended up taking half a bowl home.š
Service is fine, as I got seated right away as walk-ins and we got hand washing cloths at the beginning of the meal and someone will come around to fill up your water every once in a while. It took a long while for my food to come (was with 1 friend) and if you get one of the combos with soup and salad, don't get an appetizer or else you'll be kinda full by the time the main dish gets to you. The restaurant was understaffed where they could've had 1-2 more servers.
They have a gluten free option on their menu which made my friend happy! The menu has a lots of traditional Japanese dishes to choose from.
Fyi they still have their plexiglass dividers up which I thought gave a decent amount of safety and a lot of their staff still wore masks, even though the mask mandate isn't in place anymore.
āāāā just needed more staff during the holiday weekend
