Funny Face Bakery

Tried these cookies for the first time back in March and LOVED them so much. They were rich and gooey and everything I love in a thick chocolate chip cookie. I raved about them to every single person who was willing to listen. I live in SoCal and we have Levain there too, but I preferred funny face’s so much more. I knew I had to get it again the next time I was visiting the city. I finally returned today but for some reason the cookie was so dry and crumbly? I actually took two bites and tossed the rest. Now that I’m thinking about it, I feel like they might have given me a vegan or gluten free one on accident cause the consistency and texture were soo different. Either way, I’m sad and disappointed that I wasted my money and I can no longer say with confidence that this is my favorite cookie :/

I was set on trying a new cookie spot, and we were specifically looking for a bakery that could deliver to our office and offer gluten-free and vegan options. At first, I couldn’t find the vegan/gluten-free chocolate chip cookie listed on the delivery app, so I called—and I’m so glad I did. I spoke with a lovely woman (I wish I had caught her name!) who was incredibly kind and helpful. She quickly made the cookie available, and before we knew it, our order had arrived—hot and fresh, which never happens with our usual place! The cookies were absolutely delicious—melt-in-your-mouth, perfectly balanced, and not overly sweet. I also really appreciate how transparent they are about the ingredients they use. One of my coworkers ordered one of their fun sugar cookies, and it truly felt like receiving a piece of edible art. We all had a laugh at what was written on it and thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience. Even the packaging was spot-on. We'll definitely be ordering again!
