Gale Street Inn - Diamond Lake, Mundelein

EXCELLENT restaurant! Every item on the menu is outstanding. The gluten free options are delicious. The ribs fall off the bone - so good that you want to order the full slab. The prices are very reasonable. The owner, Bill, and his team are warm and welcoming and make you feel at home. The atmosphere is very nice, updated, and spacious. Go for lunch or dinner. We love it here. Also, Gale Street Inn supports local charities, very generous people. This restaurant is excellent in every way!

Old style restaurant with a nice location by the lake. Well maintained and clean with plenty of tables in different dining areas. No gluten free options on a large menu, which was disappointing. I ordered a steak and a salad. The salad bar was pretty basic. The steak arrived rare when I'd asked for medium/well so had to send it back. When it came back it was cooked as I'd asked and was very tasty. The waitress I had was brusk but efficient. Updated to reflect that the Inn has been taken over by a different owner. The food is now delicious, cooked well, and beautifully presented. There are many gluten free choices now, clearly marked on the menu. We dined on a Saturday, which was very busy, and we did have a long wait for our food. Our waitress was wonderful. The decor could do with some upgrading to match the food and service. I would highly recommend the restaurant on a Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday.
