my wife and i went sunday at 5pm without a reservation. we full well knew that we would have to wait, so we put our name into their system with the hostess and she said it would be about 30 minutes. We headed to the bar for a few beverages and got chatting to the the people beside us. After an hour my wife went to check how much longer (we had a concert to get to for 730) and they told her they didnt have us on the wait list. We explained the situation and were seated within a few minutes. I have celiac disease so i was happy to see gluten free items labelled ontheir menu. My wife order nachos and I order GF chicken wings and GF sweet potato fries. After about 15 minutes, the nachos came out and I was told my food would be out in a few minutes. 5 minutes later our server came by and said the kitchen was draining a fryer and going to clean it, fill it back up with oil and heat it up so there was no wheat swimming in the oil. Anyone with celiac will know about the cross containation issues that we deal with. Anyways, i told them not to go to all that trouble and to just make me the smash burger, no bun, with a lettuce wrap. They only have shredded lettuce so i said just bring the beef patties. Time was ticking at this point. A few minutes went by and the server came back and said they cant cook the burger on the grill because of cross contamination, so they would use a pan in a seperate area. Perfect, no problem....just need the food at this point. Got the 2 smash patties (that must have shrunk on cooking as they were about half the size of a drink coaster), ate them in 3 bites and asked for the bill. Thankfully the comped my burger. Out we went at 715pm to run to LCA for the concert.
All in all, nice spot, great atmophere and Im going to chalk up the mishaps to this being a new restuarant and them working out some issues. If you just want a few beverages, good spot to go, food....give them a few months to get things together.
