Green Joe has great espresso, and thats all I've ever gotten here. They always have an array of local artists' wares on display, which is very cool of them. I noticed, as have many others, that they slowly ran out of things and closed down over the last few weeks/months, which was, as a customer, weird to witness.
As for the negatives - this wasn't a coffee place you could go if you liked pastries with your coffee. All they stocked was a small selection of gluten free/vegan options, and the ones I tried were honestly the *worst*, inedible gluten free products I've encountered. The atmosphere was cold, I dont remember them ever playing music, and the only appreciable light was cool daylight from the huge windows. All hard surfaces - not a great spot to hang out if comfy cozy Cafe is your preferred vibe. The employees gave a similarly disconnected vibe - almost none of them were outwardly friendly, it was almost like ordering coffee from robots most of the time.
Regardless, GJC is/was the only independent coffee shop in a huge radius. Their pricing was great as was the espresso. I certainly hope they can reopen, at least for the sake of all the locals who lived closer than I did. If not, I guess Brewpoint and Conscious Cup are my only remaining options!
