My wife and I were traveling through New Hampshire and Vermont and I searched for -- Gluten Free Restaurants in Keene NH -- and this one came up. It is **NOT** a gluten free restaurant. It is fine that a restaurant doesn't understand gluten free but it is not fine that they get advertises as such when they are not. (Note: eating gluten is a major cause of colon cancer among people who have Celiac; which is an under-diagnosed disease.) The food was above average and it was inexpensive. The service was quirky but not bad. (Wanted to know how we were going to pay, cash or credit, while we were still eating.) It has limited parking as some spaces in what looks like its parking lot (from a map) are reserved for nearby apartments and such. Overall, the meal was filling and OK but I don't like how it shows up as a gluten free restaurant when they don't seem to understand. Responding to the owner - thanks for the response and I'll increase the rating from 2 to 3 because of the response. Having said that, I suggest there's a staff training problem. As for my positive suggestion, I suggest marking the menu with items that are GF and stating that GF bread is an option. (Costing more isn't a negative because I know it costs most.)

We popped in for lunch while visiting the kids in school. Great welcoming atmosphere, the staff/server was super friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. We appreciated the insight for a gluten free diner in our party. One of the owners passed through the dining room, checked in and gave us a bit of the great story that allowed this place to be. The menu had an option for everyone, the burgers were deeee-licious! The sauces finger licking good while dunking sides and pouring over bbq. The brisket was excellent! You’ll have to ask yourself where the idea of the ‘The Hot King’ came from… Trust them, it really is good! We so enjoyed our meals, the 5 of us easily agreed to ‘Buy a Round for the Kitchen!’ We will definitely return knowing it will be a great meal when we do.
