I have eaten here twice and LOVE it! They are careful and have extensive GF options. My favorite sushi spot! (I’m severely intolerant.)

This place is my favourite sushi restaurant outside of Japan. The fish selection is top quality. The chef has dedicated his career to this craft. He's amazing. Plus everything is gluten free, even the tempura, which is unreal. Try the salmon belly. It melts in your mouth.

My experience here is probably an outlier but it was a disaster and celiacs and people with severe allergies should know about it. I identified as celiac, sat at the bar, and everything seemed great. Had multiple conversations with our two waiters and the two chefs in front of us about how everything was gluten free except the rib eye sandwich and how important that was to the chef. We ordered a bunch of stuff including Anago nigiri. I talked to the chef in front of me about how eel is usually marinated in a sauce with gluten and how excited I was to eat it again after so many years. I ate the nigiri and a few mins later a manager came by to say they had canceled my Anago order because it was not actually gluten free. As you can imagine this was a very bad scenario for me. We left the restaurant and I did get sick shortly thereafter. As we were leaving it was apparent the manager and waiter were absolutely mortified. They did everything you would expect: apologized, comped meal, even offered to pay for medical bills, practically begged for another chance. But obviously it was too late. I understand as a celiac I take a risk eating out even in high end places that cater to a food safety experience. Ultimately the responsibility lies with me but so many employees did not know such a basic thing on a menu where apparently only two items contain gluten that it is impossible not to be disappointed and question what the breakdown is. Plenty of other restaurants not putting on the “show” of caring actually get it right. I cannot eat here again and would not recommend anyone with a serious illness or allergy ever trust them. That’s just my experience but it was the worst kind of one.
