The food here is amazing! The ambiance is a little less than ideal but it’s a small and busy space, so it works! Maybe some ambiance music would elevate the experience? Other than that, this place is the absolute best spot for gluten free and vegan items! Can’t go wrong with anything on the menu, especially the seasonal shakes are a must!

I ordered a smokehouse burger with the gluten free modifications. When my burger arrived I checked the bun and had a feeling it was not the gf bun. I was right. The gf modifications had not been put in and I was made to feel like I had not ordered it that way. I proceeded to pay for the gf bun and wait for my burger. Once I got the gf burger it was overall okay. The flavor of the Gouda paired with the sauce was good. The fries tasted stale. The vanilla milkshake was my favorite part of the meal. I’m not one to discount a place based on one poor experience and would give HipCityVeg another try in the future.

Update: restraunt was nice, food was pretty good, nice flavor. MAJOR PROBLEM: I alerted staff of my severe intolerance to a specific ingredient (tumeric) when I ordered and requested for them to check to make sure what I ordered (a spicy chicken sandwich) did not contain that ingredient. They said it did not. Now here I am trapped in a bathroom while I was supposed to have been being able to see the National gallery of art. Failure to check ingredients ruined an entire day of a trip I've been planning for months. :( I would also like to add that there was another person whom ordered a gluten free bun on their food and received a gluten bun, which could have been life threatening if the customer did not check. Not allergen friendly!
