great ambience and service. lots of gluten free options. loved everything i ordered (meat platter) but wish i got lamb instead of the beef kofte. i felt like the flavor was good but didn’t exactly jump out at me– especially in the stews. but the standout for me was the rice pudding!!! one of my favorite desserts of all time.
Place was crowded and line organization was lacking. The gluten free options were limited but was able to find a few items that were tasty. Good for a quick grab and go meal if you are on the run…
Gluten free person here! Had the gf chipper but overall felt disappointed- I think Georgetown cupcakes does a better gf cupcake. It was a bit dry and overly sweet.
We are gluten-free and dairy-free. If that's you, this may be a good option. Everything there is dairy-free, with some options also being gluten-free. Service is mid. If you call them, it often takes days for someone to answer or return a call. When you go in-person, the salesperson is knowledgeable but not necessarily warm. We've been several times for a sweet-giz. The brownies are moist and sweet (the one thats like a brownie sandwich with cream in the middle had more of a cake consistency and bot super moist like a brownie). The cookies that I've tried (oatmeal whoopie/cream pie and chocolate chip) were not very moist and only moderately sweet. I don't necessarily need a lot of sweetness, but my crew does, and they thought it was just ok. I recently ordered a birthday cake from them for my neice. After some back-and-forth and calling over 2 days, they accommodated our request to pick it up for hours earlier (they have a 72-hour pre-order rule, or something like that). Had someone answered our calls, it would've been easy to adjust the time, but i digress...
The cake was pretty, and the sweetness was on-point. However, it was a bit dry, though. I bake dairy-free and vegan desserts myself, so I know it can be tricky to get the moistness correct, so I'm hoping that they will tinker with their formula to make their items a bit more moist. We would come back bc dairy-free and gluten-free options are slim pickings (it's usually just one or the other), but I would just stick with the brownie.
I'm adding a photo of the cake, which was super cute. We purchased the toppers ourselves.
Was in DC for a couple of days and stopped by here for brunch on my last day. The place is located in CityCenterDC which is a cute stretch of restaurants and high end shops.
The place is small with some outside seating. You order your food and then grab a seat if dining in and they bring your food to you.
I ordered the large sweet berry waffle, which is essentially a regular sized waffle instead of a half waffle which you can also order. I also had the Nobility juice.
The juice ended up being more expensive than I thought. There is a charge for the juice and then an up charge for the size. It ended up costing me $12.95 ($9.95 + $3.00 for a medium size). The waffle was $15.95. I think that is too expensive for a drink.
It’s not easy to find gluten free vegan waffles and pancakes so whenever I run across them I order them. The waffle was tasty and the strawberries and blueberries were fresh. The Nobility juice was good. It definitely had a green taste to it as I suspected. I’m not a big fan of green juice, but felt I could use less sweetness since I was eating a waffle with fruit.
I would eat here again, but try a different juice and at a smaller size.
Absolutely recommend this place!! The cashier (Chris) was soo kind and helped me decide what to get. Got the grandezza and it was DELICIOUS!!
They had TWO options for gluten free (bread & bagel) which is stellar. The staff were having a great time and catering to guests needs - which created such a fun atmosphere! Lots of laughter and smiles which we love to see.
Will definitely be back to try more!!
If you are on a gluten free diet, this restaurant is a real treat. This is the ONLY restaurant I know of in the entire DC area that offers gluten free French toast!!! It is really yummy. It is gluten free cinnamon raison bread that they make into French toast. It is served with maple syrup that has few slices of bananas in it. It is always served warm. (Be sure to look for the bananas. If the French toast is served with sliced strawberries, that is the wheat based French toast.)
This restaurant also has gluten free bread so most of their sandwiches can be made gluten free upon request. And they can make their eggs benedict gluten free by using their gluten free toast.
It is a very pleasant experience dining here. I usually dine outside. They are located on a small street in Georgetown. Georgetown can be crowded but on this small street, it is never very busy. On a nice weather day, it is a pleasant experience to eat the gluten free French toast while enjoying the weather.
The service is always good too. I enthusiastically recommend this restaurant.
I would usually rate this restaurant higher. I have been to a different location before and had good service as well as they have gluten free options. This time after moving apartments I did a pick up order. I was excited for the lamb burger with the gluten free bread. My boyfriend got a burger and roommate got a Cuban panini. I would say the food was okay a 3.5 but my issue is how my boyfriend was treated when getting into the restaurant.
I sent my boyfriend in because I was driving. Told him to pick up the order with my name on it. He texts me asking for confirmation. That’s okay because a guy is picking up a girls order. He comes to the car and says the guy “looked him up and down and told he needs to show proof”.
I understand the asking for proof but it’s the tone. It’s the way you ask for things, the attitude you have. My boyfriend is North African/Arabic and it’s GIVING RACIAL PROFILING.
So imagine being emotionally exhausted from moving in the DC humidity and heat and then someone makes you feel like that at the end of your day. All to have a sub par burger.
The must visit bagel/coffee place in Georgetown!
From Food, service, atmosphere, this place deserves 5 stars.
They have many breakfast and lunch bagel sandwiches even gluten free options.
I tried the mountain view on a maple salt & pepper bagel it was delicious!
The bagel was so chewy, eggs were fluffy and lakes were crispy and salty & sweet bagel just made your morning happy!
(Original serve in plain bagel so ask for maple salt& pepper bagel)
If you are chocolate lover, try the chocolate babka muffin. Freshly baked and it has layers unlike regular muffin with chocolate swirls.
I also tried the signature maple french Toast latte and it is not too sweet and not too hot just perfect combination of coffee with touch of maple taste. you should definitely try!
Special shout out to Michael who is the best!!! He was so kind, friendly and helpful. He definitely made my morning even brighter:)
Such a cute pink house you can’t miss it!
Excellent choice for macaron lovers!! Incredible selection of delicious macarons & beautiful window displays!! Amazing vibe and atmosphere. Best part of it all macarons are gluten free; favorite being honey lavender.
Vibes are great, food is pretty good, good vegetarian and gluten free options. But service is very slow and makes a fair number of minor mistakes. It’s like being in a Paris cafe, both good and bad.
Tatte Bakery & Café has earned its reputation as a beloved breakfast spot in Washington, D.C., but potential visitors should brace themselves for frequent crowds. Patience is essential if you decide to dine here. The food is quite impressive, with standout options like their hearty scrambles and warm oatmeal. Even the gluten-free offerings are commendable, although the gluten-free bread could benefit from a bit more filling to enhance the overall flavor and satisfaction.
On my recent visit, the service left something to be desired; our delicious food arrived much sooner than our drinks, which seemed to take an unusually long time. Despite the wait, the drinks proved to be a highlight, perfectly crafted and refreshing.
The café's atmosphere is bustling, filled with the lively chatter of patrons, which can be somewhat hindered during busy periods. On my visit, the incessant sound of a fire alarm added to the noise, creating a challenging dining experience. Finding a table can also be a struggle due to the popularity of this location, leading me to recommend opting for takeout instead of trying to secure a seat.
Overall, Tatte Bakery & Café offers a delightful breakfast experience, albeit at a slightly higher price point than some other local options. It’s a spot worth visiting if you don’t mind the hustle and bustle and are craving a satisfying meal to start your day.
Great atmosphere and amazing service! Cool place to sit down and get some homework done. I was lucky enough to find a seat right away, but it was crowded- the place seems very popular!
I got an iced oat milk latte with lavender and it was very good! I also got a gluten-free chocolate muffin, but it was honestly pretty dry, so I wouldn't recommend it.
Food was delicious - we is the breakfast sandwich on a croissant, salmon/Avacado egg sandwich, and a croque madame. They were all great! Grab a pastry too - the almond croissant and morning bun were fantastic. Service was very friendly, tables were cleared quickly, and lattes are yummy!! (Great gluten free menu)
Had a really great time here! We loved that everything was vegan(by default vegetarian) and tasty! I got the tofu and wild mushroom bowl as a delicious gluten free entree. The group I was with also split the potato skins(also gluten free) that were amazing! My partner is not gluten free, but got the gluten free pasta with the bolognese with meatballs and a side salad. The meatballs are not gluten free but the consensus at the table was that they were yummy!
Enjoyed the outside balcony ambiance and of course had to hit the dessert menu after our meal. Had the macarons since they were all gluten free and the berry cheesecake that was phenomenal. Can’t wait to come back!

Great for gluten free vegans!!!! menu is well-marked and there are multiple items for folks living (eating) at the intersection of GF& vegan. however, DO NOT order the “smoothie bowl” i immediately wanted to send it back (but i would never cuz that’s crazy, ab as crazy as this review). the smoothie bowl is liquidy-soupy like a drinking a drink with a spoon and it comes in a mug. coupe, yall need to rethink that one or remove it. i rlly regretted ordering it and i usually LOVE smoothie bowls.
Such wonderful people. I’m a newly-diagnosed celiac and it’s been hard. I ordered from Ted’s Bulletin on UberEats and the restaurant actually called me to let me know that one of the items wasn’t gluten-free. Then they went above and beyond to find me a safe substitute. The food was really good too!
The GreenBee Café is my favorite cafe in Washington to enjoy local seasonal cooking. Their dishes are a burst of flavor with vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options. I love their classic cobb salad and blackened catfish sandwich– fresh, and satisfying. The cozy ambiance and friendly staff make it a perfect spot for a lunch date or solo meal. They cater well to my dietary needs, which is a big plus for me. You can enjoy their all-day breakfast, sandwiches, wraps, and pasta. Evergreen Eats Cafe proves that healthy eating can be a delight for the taste buds. It's my go-to place for guilt-free indulgence.
Really good gelato, staff had an infectiously happy mood, and explained to me how they were safe for gluten free! Will always come back here!

The food here is amazing! The ambiance is a little less than ideal but it’s a small and busy space, so it works! Maybe some ambiance music would elevate the experience?
Other than that, this place is the absolute best spot for gluten free and vegan items! Can’t go wrong with anything on the menu, especially the seasonal shakes are a must!
We were excited to try after reading some reviews about gluten free bread, but when we realized they didn’t have that option we flagged down the waiter to tell them we were leaving. The server was so curt and unnecessarily rude, not even letting me finish my sentence while I was apologetically explaining. Tables were so close together it was almost impossible to get in and out.
Love this local spot! Great food, great drinks, the service and community here is fab. A perfect place to connect with your people during or after a long week. Also their breakfast tacos are the best in the city. :) I’m gluten free and it’s always super easy on that front too. Recommend!
pretty picky about açaí and this was the best açaí bowl i’ve ever had!!! would move to dc just for this!!! the flavor was incredible and the gluten free granola was to die for! the girl working there was so friendly and helpful — 12/10!!

I have never experienced such excellent service before. This coffee shop is without a doubt the best, with fantastic food and coffee. I was especially pleased to find gluten-free options available.
Came to D.C just for a day trip and this was my first stop before heading to the NMWA and was very pleased overall with the quality of the food and beverage and friendliness of the staff 💛. I ordered a small iced sunshine latte (turmeric and ginger) with whole milk and one of their breakfast arepas (I'm gluten-free so this was a delicious option since the arepa is naturally gluten-free) and my order came to $19.00 including tax & tip. The sunshine latte is very balanced and subtly sweet and the breakfast arepa warmed me right up since it's so freezing out right now (I *loved* the guasacaca that came with it). The only downside is that Nativo is located right by the front doors so you definitely will feel the weather outside but of course this didn't affect the quality of my experience, just something to note. The staff/owners were very sweet and helpful and if I lived here in D.C I would definitely be coming here every week 💛💛💛.

I wish there was a zero star for this place..
I had to pay for this presumably sandwich which they made the maximum effort to make it inedible, when I ask to sub it with something else because I really didn’t like it ( the egg and sauce were weird and nothing like an omelette like they described it) the register girl told me I’ll have to pay for it because this is the sandwich 🤢 please judge by the photo if this look good to you. The fact that I ordered gluten free sandwich doesn’t mean you have to make it so inedible. Also the Coffee was sour- To add a little more to an already bad experience. Think twice before coming here.
This place is GREAT if you love favor and spices. We had a gluten free person in our party and the cashier was nice enough to explain what the options were. The person chose the chicken shawarma without the pita and mixed with lettuce instead. The line goes fairly quick (like 15 minutes from just outside the door) but seating is the hard part. It's really crowded inside and people hover over while waiting for a seat. If you can go during the week, you will probably have better luck. The weekend (lunch) lines are definitely longer than weekday lunch times. Everything comes in takeout boxes so you can always eat at a nearby park.

Pretty terrible matcha for a place that is charging 7 dollars for it. Took 10 minutes for my drink to get made (after ordering it from the kiosk) while I watched others get their much more complicated orders get made. My matcha was a swampy green color that was not mixed very well, I don’t think this was very good quality matcha. Or maybe the barista was having a bad day. I don’t know. Don’t believe Google Maps when it says this is the highest rated cafe that you should go to.
Outside and inside seating is non-existent; and the view from outside is not particularly nice. Also, the only gluten free thing is the Turkish Delight. Would skip this one frankly.
I had an absolutely amazing experience! The service was top-notch, and the food was just as impressive. There’s a great variety of smoothies and juice options to choose from, which was a nice bonus.
The atmosphere was incredibly welcoming—it truly felt like a place where you could relax and enjoy your time. A special shoutout to Gisell from the management team—she was so sweet and made my experience feel even more authentic and personal.
As someone with celiac disease, I really appreciated how attentive she was. Gisell took the time to walk me through the menu and show me what gluten-free options were available, which made me feel comfortable and cared for.
I’ll definitely be coming back and bringing more family and friends with me!
