I’m not exaggerating when I say I had tears in my eyes. The lunch I just had here is one of the best meals I’ve had in my life.
The cheesy yuca bun (gluten-free and greasy in the best way) is rich and nutty and incredibly satisfying — I got it with vegan sausage, jalapeños, red onion, cheddar, and pesto. My friend, who’s recovering from surgery at the moment, said, “I feel like this is the first time my brain has had dopamine in it in weeks.”
I have celiac, so when I was a kid my friend’s mom would make me a small batch of gluten-free latkes on Hanukkah to go along with the flour ones. I love that woman, but I have to admit, the latkes I had here are even better. Incredibly creamy, perfectly crispy. My friend and I just kept shaking our heads and smiling.
The staff were really friendly, and the patio was lovely and spacious and beautifully painted. This was one of those meals that brings color back to world, and I think I’ll remember it for a long time to come.
