The setting is magnificent, wild, the white pond is exceptional, numerous birds, squirrels, coypu, wild boars.... magnificent bracken ferns border the river. The few rooms are, like the entire Villa, decorated with a sober, elegant, harmonious, classy style, nevertheless not pretentious
You immediately feel good, a bright restaurant room facing the pond accommodates around ten tables, mainly couples, so a rather intimate atmosphere.
That's it for the frame.
For the service, Magali and her team are very
professional, while being available, smiling, mischievous, excellent advice.
For the dishes, local products from small producers mainly, seasonal, inventive, subtle play of colors, texture, flavors, without falling into risky choices, unfortunately very often in fashion at the moment.
That evening, asparagus and its variations, saffron from the Landes and yes... smoked foie gras accompanied by sour red fruits, the perfect sweet/savory.
Although it is said that these are tasting portions, don't be fooled, as everything is generous, we are in the south west finally, for good eaters like me, we do not leave with the desire to complete with a garbure and a cassoulet.....
As for the superb wine choices
Being from Bayonne, we chose a white from Savoie from the Domaine des Ardoisières, the Allobroges, for a change, a marvel!!!
Thank you to all this great team who offer the best of French cuisine without pretension or superficiality
So (I hope Magali and David will forgive me) but it will not be the ideal place given the choice of the "discovery" formula, inevitable when you want high-end privacy, which I would recommend to vegetarians, vegans, vegans, allergic to fish, gluten, dairy products, egg, lactose...... We are in the South West!!!
