I assumed for years that J.D. Hoyt's was a strip club since there are two next to it but deprived myself from this delightful place with that incorrect assumption. A classy joint with a 1940's inspired interior that makes you want to talk like an old school radio announcer and expect to see Guy Noir, Private Eye at the bar, J.D. Hoyt's is a delicious treat. They are known for their pork chops (which I did not try) and have many creole menu items (remember Minneapolis is connected to New Orleans by the Mississippi). I felt very safe with my gluten free food options as someone with celiac and especially loved the lobster ravioli - a little too rich for the main meal but worked well as a share plate.
