I was very excited to try Kaua'i Juice Co. after seeing their spot on Kaua'i TV, a local channel that plays advertisements of local businesses. I was especially keen to try their macadamia nut milk made fresh in house.
While staying on the North Shore, I ended up trying a bottle of the "pearadise" which was a pretty blue colour, for $6.99 at Safeway. Some grocers were selling bottles of Kaua'i Juice Co. for more than $8 per bottle.
While staying on the South Shore, I took a mile or so walk from the Grand Hyatt and just so happened on an actual Kaua'i Juice Co. shop. The shop is very pretty and Instagramable. They sell everything from shirts to honey, lip balm to salads. They also have a ton of hot sauces that you can sample on a wooden spoon (so it's safe for Celiacs like me.)
I was disappointed to see the nut milk I wanted to try was $12!!! I ended up trying the lilikoi lychee flavour, which was only $5.
I've had probably umpteen zillion kombucha brands in my life as well as making my own at home. I usually stick to GT's because of how flavourful it tastes. Honestly, while the drinks are gorgeous with gorgeous packaging, they don't taste like anything. Both kombuchas that I tried from them had a non-discript flavour and definitely not the strong, distinct kombucha flavour in homemade kombucha.
Even my husband, who refuses to even try kombucha because of the fermented smell, tried this one and his first words were "this doesn't taste like lilikoi or lychee."
Was my drink bad? No. It just had less flavour than a La Croix.
