We came here after a bad experience elsewhere for my sister-in-law's birthday lunch. The staff were very welcoming and accommodating. I had been in touch previously about gluten free options and was advised there were plenty. However when asking at ordering I was told there was only one option for starters and one for main, which is very limited. I think, upon reflection, they probably could have adapted the menu for gf (e.g. no flatbread or different sauce) but I don't think the staff were confident enough to recommend.
I went for the sea bass which was delicious! My sister-in-law had the sushi platter which she enjoyed, and then the baklawa for desert. We both had prosecco which was good too.
Atmosphere wise it was pleasant enough although I would say that, given this is newly opened, I would expect the restaurant to be in better condition (paint rubbed off cistern, scuff marks, flooring upstairs was super sticky etc).
The food was nice, and the staff were lovely. Sadly as they are limited on their gluten free options and there are other places in Shrewsbury that are excellent, I wouldn't return anytime soon. I will go back though when I fancy sea bass with a yummy sauce! It's definitely worth a try if you're looking for something different and reasonably priced (although my friends think it's expensive!) And local. Always nice to avoid the chains.
