La Petite on Magazine is a locals. But not local like poboy Frankie's local. Quality local, where an afternoon lunch (ends at 2pm so take into account arriving by 1pm) finds locals greeting, talking to each other from table to table. Food is bistro style meaning whereas I had the rabbit (pictyred) and the blue crab beignets, my partner ate the burger (without bread, she's gluten free). Lovely day ambience with the sun illumination in the restaurant, people dressed up (social jackets, slacks, dresses. We were pleased with our meal. The crab in the beignets was good, but I scooped it out because the 'beignet' was a little doughy for me (not a complaint, just didn't feel like the bread, though if it had been crispy I probably would have, but that's not the dish). The paneed rabbit was good.. ate it all. So many good New Orleans places but will return here when next in the upper Magazine street area.
