I had the misfortune of dining here the other day after having this restaurant recommended to me by several people whose opinions I no longer trust.
I ordered the Alaskan King Crab Roll because the menu indicated that it was gluten-free, and I have celiac disease and can only tolerate small amounts of gluten without experiencing extreme discomfort. When the waitress brought over my order, I immediately saw that the crab meat on the plate looked off. I asked the server if it was real crab meat, which she assured me it was. However, after taking a few bites of my meal, I could tell that it was imitation crab - it did not taste like any real king crab that I have had before. Imitation crab contains gluten, and within a few minutes I was experiencing the worst abdominal cramps of my life.
I asked for the check and again questioned the waitress on the authenticity of the crab meat, to which she again testily insisted was real, all while dealing with a pain akin to children playing double dutch with my digestive system. She asked if I wanted my order boxed up, at which point I declined and hurriedly paid for my meal and left, all while experiencing intense discomfort.
