Went here for dinner after flying in from Vegas on 8/20/2021. My mother-in-law is a big fan and my husband grew up here in El Paso, so it was my chance to try it.
I have Celiac disease and everything I eat must be gluten free. The waitress did her best to help me find something I could eat. I ended up getting the $18.99 shrimp fajitas with corn tortillas.
My husband got melted cheese for $8.99 and we skipped the flour tortillas. He doesn't have Celiac, so he had the meat Chile rellanos for $10.25.
There is a 3% charge if you don't pay in cash, so we used up all our cash here for dinner, because who carries cash anymore?
Parking lot was a mad house.
I really hope the owners consider marking which items are gluten free or can be made gluten free on their menu, so that the waitress doesn't have to go and ask the chef about each potential item. More than 30% of Americans are looking for gluten free options, even if they don't have Celiac disease like me.
⭐ I carry this Spanish gluten free card on my phone:
I have a disease called celiac disease and I need to follow a rigorous gluten-free diet.
As a consequence I could get very sick if I ate foods that contained flour or grains of wheat, rye, barley and oats.
Does this food contain wheat, rye, barley or oat flour or grains? If you have any questions about the contents of the food, please tell me.
I can eat foods that contain rice, corn, potatoes, all types of hard vegetables and fruit, eggs, cheese, milk, meat and fish as long as they have not been prepared with wheat flour, batter, breadcrumbs or sauces. No sauce, please.
Thank you very much for your help.
