Love Boat Ice Cream

We tried Love Boat Ice cream at Jerry’s today. We won’t be going back! They don’t have any dipped waffle cones, don’t offer samples, don’t offer single scoops for small children, and have no gluten free cones. it was thin and icy cream, not rich and smooth. Joeys it is!

We spent a week in Captiva/Sanibel. Love Boat Ice Cream was a must stop EVERY day! One day we went 2x. This ice cream is the most delicious I have had since I was a kid and we had a place that made it fresh like Love Boat does. My daughter has a Peanut/Tree nut allergy and this place handled it beautifully every time. She has really never had the opportunity to go to an ice cream shop and order whatever she liked. They have a giant board listing all their flavors. Each one indicates weather it contains gluten (which we also avoid) or nuts or both. Every employee was well versed in the store's procedure for allergies. They washed their hands, and took bins from the back that were not in contact with the allergens. They used fresh scoop and used an allergen free surface. Every employee was kind and patient and confident about how to handle her order. We would get the 2 or 3 scoop option and she was able to try 3 different flavors and many different combinations because of such an extensive selection. This made the vacation for her. Until you have an allergy you will never understand what it is like to not be able to have something simple like a scoop of ice cream. The employees never made us feel like we were a bother either. They were all so amazing. The shop is so much fun and there is beautiful seating outside as well. Thank you Love Boat Ice Cream for giving my daughter a very unique and enjoyable experience.
