Food was delicious. They even have a Gluten-free menu (Minus deserts 😩) they handled my gluten and my sea food allergy beautifully. The waiter even made sure my plate was handed to me before he handled the other plates at the table that had sea food.

Oh!!! this little amazing food truck gave us the best surprise after a nap at the beach!!! I haven't had a blt since i gave up meat a year and a half ago. I'm also gluten free so there's that. This little truck makes a gluten free and vegan blt that almost made me cry!, I legit wanted to turn back and buy another one when we drove off.. you absolutely have to try it and a smoothie from there also. Great great job!
Great pizza and other options. Gluten free options. Take out or eat in. Lots of beer. Super friendly and kind!
Sweet Melissa’s also does a few nights here from this kitchen since the restaurant is being rebuilt.
We had a fantastic dinner and the grouper was incredibly tasty! I would like to commend our waitress for her extensive knowledge of gluten-free options and accommodations. Thank you for a wonderful dining experience!
We had a great meal here. The fajitas and grilled fish street tacos were excellent. Gluten free options are clearly marked on the menu. We loved it. Thanks Rosalitas!
From the woman that answered the phone to the bartender that gave me my carry out order, every single person I encountered was very friendly and professional. The coconut cheesecake (Gluten free) was the best dessert I’ve ever eaten. The inside of the restaurant is decorated so nice! This is a new stop for us when we vacation.
Awesome experience. Food was great. Nut free and gluten free allergy awareness and accommodation was comforting even on the desert menu! Timing of the flow was perfect for our family.
Dinner special was sesame encrusted hogfish with mango butter sauce w/ rice, mixed vegetables, and fruit in a chocolate cup… it was excellent! We also had the grilled grouper sandwich (less the bun for gluten free option) with house made chips. Everything was well prepared, flavorful, & our server Chelsie was great. Will definitely make this stop every time on Sanibel.
Spoondrift is an Island staple! I’m there at least twice a week! Something for everyone! Their veggie bowls are amazing and their desserts are INCREDIBLE! Lots of vegetarian, gluten free, dairy free options. Their specials are so good too, check their Instagram for their take out specials
We tried Love Boat Ice cream at Jerry’s today. We won’t be going back! They don’t have any dipped waffle cones, don’t offer samples, don’t offer single scoops for small children, and have no gluten free cones. it was thin and icy cream, not rich and smooth. Joeys it is!
We visit Sanibel once a year and get breakfast here several times during our stay. The proportions are large and everything we have tried was good. The most important thing to note for us is their gluten free options, my wife has celiac and has never been gluten'd here. We will continue to eat here on our future trips.
Food was great but I didn’t have a good experience. We had 19 people with 8 kids at a separate table and the staff bought the kids food before we even took our order. By the time our food arrived our kids were completely restless and running around the place.
They were helpful about giving me gluten-free choices and the Magi that I ordered was excellent.
The atmosphere was fun and true to Sanibel Island. The guitar player was able to be heard but not overwhelming.
The Asiago gnocchi in Cajun cream sauce was fantastic as was the Mahi dinner my wife ate.
They have a gluten free menu, too.
Our visit was for brunch and we were a party of 6.
We were seated in what was referred to as the gazebo but it wasn’t where our friends thought we would be. The room was really a private party room with no view of the beautiful Gulf of Mexico. There were other tables available but our server seemed annoyed because this was the room we requested. Rather than cause a problem we stayed in the non-view room.
As we began to order we asked for separate checks but was urged to have one and split it 3 ways because it was easier to divide the check into 3 at the end.
Our service was quick and we were not rushed. Water and coffee was refilled frequently.
There were gluten-free options and our server was very accommodating to that fact.
Our meals were good but the presentation was a bit sloppy as you can see from the photos. The poached eggs were a bit over cooked. Thus the 4 star rating.
I would dine at the Thistle Lodge again but would request a Gulf view on our next visit.
Had dinner here last night and it was a great experience. My girlfriend has some dietary requirements (vegan & gluten free) and the chef made a unique and delicious meal out of the fresh ingredients on hand. I had the beet salad which I highly recommend, followed by the scallops and "death by chocolate." All excellent. Not an inexpensive meal but very satisfying.
Charming little bistro. Exquisite food, well plated and served. Chef/owners and staff are collegial yet professional. We do not drink alcohol so cannot judge wine menu, but otherwise simply delightful on every level. Prix fixe menu was ample, and entire menu was appealing. Not sure about vegetarian or vegan options. We had trout almandine and steak frites preceded by house rolls, pate, and light green salad with fresh mustard vinaigrette. Best meal I've had on the island. Actually took home dessert because we were full. Gluten-free friendly. Highly recommend.

Excellent food and experience! My wife has Celiac and the staff were very accommodating and helpful with her gluten free needs. The Italian wrap was delicious and well made with fresh ingredients and the tomato soup dipper was superb. Thick cut, crispy bacon was perfectly prepared and the smoothies were delicious as well! This should be on your list of places to try whenever you visit Sanibel.
Decided to try this restaurant on Sanibel. The reviews were good but I can’t understand why. As an appetizer we ordered the fried artichokes. They literally tasted like frozen appetizers that were baked. I ordered the grouper and my wife ordered a gluten free pizza. As the dishes were brought to the table you could smell the fish and that it was in its last leg if not already gone. I was horrified. Asked them to take away and I would share the gluten free pizza with my wife. Except it wasnt a gluten free pizza but a regular pizza. Save your money and go to real restaurant on the island like Doc Fords. Where we’ve never had a bad meal….
