María Cruz - Plant Based Cuisine

This has become my favorite go-to spot for lunch. It’s calm and there’s definitely something for everyone. My daughter loved the BBQ tofu, though my only complaint is that the tofu was sliced extremely thin. Maybe they were running low since it was a busy weekend? All of the salads are delicious and filling. I try something new each time I visit. I do wish there were more gluten-free options (waffles, burritos, etc.) and a spicier salsa would be great, the green one isn’t spicy at all.

The valley needs more vegan options and Maria Cruz was a great find. However, their customer service is a major letdown. What's even more concerning is their handling of food allergens. As a vegan restaurant, you'd expect them to be knowledgeable and take proper precautions about allergens, but they're not. They don't seem to take food allergies seriously and it puts customers at risk. My friend got sick twice, including an incident where food labeled gluten free wasn't and a dish contained nuts (was not listed on the menu). A vegan restaurant should prioritize allergen safety, especially for vulnerable customers. It's disappointing they don't take this seriously. Please DO better.
