Jose Pausto and all the staff here are amazing. They were quick and knowledgeable to point out and accommodate gluten free meals (lots of their menu is naturally) and made us feel so welcome. The sunset bar is great to visit at happy hour for 2 for 1 drinks (300 pesos). We came here many times during our 8 nights in Tulum.

We were walking up the road looking for somewhere to eat and wandered into Mateos because it looked promising. And it was great indeed! Especially since we are traveling with some celiacs. There was an English speaking waiter who was able to help those members of our group with allergies. All the food was delicious and it came out very quickly! There's also a nice rooftop patio with great views. Definitely recommend
