We had a really lovely meal here at the weekend. The staff we interacted with were all so polite and friendly, and seemed genuinely thrilled to have us there. The restaurant itself is really nicely decorated and has a friendly, relaxing atmosphere.
I cannot eat gluten, and the member of staff who served us was very knowledgeable about each dish and what did and didn’t contain gluten. Additionally, the allergens in each dish are clearly listed against every option on the menu, so I felt 100% confident ordering something that I could safely eat, which was such a luxury.
The pappadums were gorgeous and came with a lovely selection of dips. We shared the BDF to start, and it was cooked perfectly and full of flavour. Our mains consisted of Alleppey Prawn Curry, Coconut Rice, Grandma’s Chicken Curry and Pulao Rice, all of which was delicious and cooked well. My husband also had a cheese and garlic naan which he really enjoyed, and although I couldn’t try any for myself, it looked and smelt incredible.
This was our first visit to Mattancherry Taunton, but it definitely will not be our last!
