Mauricio's Italian Restaurant

I have many dietary restrictions. I can’t eat soy, gluten, or dairy. It makes it very hard to eat out with my husband. I have not gotten to enjoy an Italian restaurant in a very long time, but Mauricio’s is now a place we can go! They were amazing. I’m always unsure if they actually made it correctly, but I felt great afterword. They were so nice about it too! So many places make it such an inconvenience that I just avoid eating out. We will definitely be back many times. Also their food tastes amazing, it’s beautiful inside, and everyone is so nice. It’s honestly not very expensive for the quality of the place and food. Definitely recommend!

Overall it’s an average experience. Food was decent. They had a couple of gluten free option but when I asked for the spaghetti they came out with penne without letting me know so my shrimp scampi lost its appeal. Not to mention that I literally got 3 shrimp. For paying $21 for a pasta dish I thought this was pretty cheap on their end. The menu was mostly pasta options. Just a couple of other items $$$ that were not. Like I said it was ok. Nothing I’d go back for. But this is what Cookeville calls Italian. It’s the only option. The atmosphere was trying to be high end but misses the Italian vibe. The prices definitely were high end. Didn’t bother with a glass of wine or bottle to share, wasn’t worth the cost. So if you don’t know what good Italian actually is, this is great.
