Melville Café

Nestled along the Grand River in the picturesque downtown of Galt, the Melville Cafe will supercede your expectations. The sight lines are awe-inspiring! The food and dessert selections are spectacular. My friends and I chose the gourmet pizzas. One friend is celiac and commented that it was the best gluten-free pizza she had ever consumed. The decor is inviting, and the staff are super-friendly and immaculately attired. The service and food were excellent.

The coffee is good but the food— buyer beware. I got a gluten free cookie- It tasted like plain flour, it crumbled like it had been in the freezer for 6 months and was tiny and of course over 2 dollars. Then a ham and Swiss sandwich on gluten free bread. For a wapping 7.50+tax I got a slice of ham, a thin slice of cheese; no butter, no sauce, no lettuce no tomato. There was more bread than substance which says a lot of the tiny pieces of gluten free bread. Again service was good but they need to have higher standards when serving food. If you’re looking for gluten free options this is not the place !
