Merriman's Kapalua

Had to ask the waiter about gluten free but he knew exactly what I could eat! 10/10 recommend! The best service I’ve ever experienced and everyones dish was delicious!

FANTASTIC FOODIE EXPERIENCE NOVEMBER 2024 We visited a Merriman’s restaurant before and loved it so when we came to Maui we naturally booked a table here last minute. Sitting among the AARP crowd at 4:15 turned out to be wonderful and I would be inclined to book early again for the guaranteed ocean front view. Peter is a genius at using the same local ingredients in unique ways to have a diverse menu with amazing flavors in each dish. The consistently executed plates with impeccable service is a hallmark of the Merriman’s experience and I am totally here for it as a “normal” person who enjoys food. This place is a good bang for the buck for what you get. We had, complimentary bubbly tasting for our anniversary, a gift from the kitchen of mushroom soup, a complimentary AMAZING dessert, and a “to go” treat that was so yummy with our coffee the next morning. Paying for the DELICIOUS meal was an honor. Best of all… This phenomenal culinary experience was in a GORGEOUS setting jutting out on a magical point in the Pacific Ocean. Thank you David for a marvelous time and embodying the essence of a professional server. UPDATE JUNE 2025 Carmen was our server and she either had an off night or just never has her act together. We still had menus in our hands and hadn’t ordered our meals when our appetizers showed up. She also didn’t do a super job of checking on us after meal came out. Food was again delicious with one exception. Lobster dish was a disappointment, as it was served almost cold and used Maine lobster instead of the warm water lobster advertised on the menu. We had our kids with us this time and they catered to their gluten-sensitive tummies. Best views and MaiTais on the island are found here.

Our first time to Merriman's was a very good experience. The atmosphere was very cheery and fun. The dress code was casual. Valet parking is available. The waiter was super professional, knowledgeable and was enjoyable to talk to. He went over the whole menu to help me with my gluten free options. The food was delicious. All of us loved our meals. Definitely recommend!
