Metate Cabo

Good food. Service was slow but the servers were friendly. Be autiful ambiance. Very limited vegetarian options though. Have gluten free options. The food is good but seems over hyped for being listed as the number 1 restaurant on TripAdvisor. We definitely had better food at other places in cabo. Limited parking on the street outside.

I went into this meal with high expectations after seeing such good reviews. I have celiac so I’m sadly gluten free. They seemed knowledgeable about my allergies and I personally did not get sick and feel very lucky. A friend I went with has a peanut allergy and after telling multiple times and being reassured by the server, had a severe reaction and was made violently ill, his meal was not comped. The wait staff was not accommodating after our friend was made sick. The drinks were OKAY at best. Most of our dishes came out cold. One dish never made it to the table. Multiple complaints in our party of dry meat and overcooked fish. The elote seemed to be the only winner at the table. The ambiance was nice at first, but there was a heavy sewage smell that often wafted through the restaurant, which was not pleasant while eating. Would absolutely not recommend to anyone

This was an amazing experience! My mother is Celiac and everyone made it so easy to navigate. Everything we ate was delicious! Did I mention the cocktails? And the atmosphere? Mecate is amazing!
