Mission Cafe

Hubby and I had to come into Sydney this week for a couple of appointments and we stopped at Mission cafe for a coffee and cake before heading home. The owner is so nice and helpful. I can only eat gluten free cakes and was very happy with the passion fruit slice that I was given and the coffee is to die for. The staff are very nice.

Can't speak highly enough about this place. Amazingly affordable. Came across it, by chance, en route to QVB. So so glad I did! Many meals for under or around $10 and they're of a high, very fresh quality. When I go to a cafe, I expect to be served by clock in, clock off, collect pay check staff. This cafe is very very different: beyond the staff being super efficient and lovely...you can tell they actually really love their jobs and take pride in what they do! What's more there's ample seating. Could easily fit 15+ people and they have loads and loads of really good gluten and lactose free, vegetarian and vegan options (not just the typical array of soy milk or gluten free toast offerings). Now I know this gem is here, friends and I will be going out of our way to eat/drink here. They also have a great selection of soups and its really modern, warm, clean and welcoming inside. I think the gentleman in my photo is the owner and he seemed to know most people by name/face! (Not surprising, after eating there myself!)
