Mister Chips by The Beach

Ordered a vegetarian hot dog, got served a meat hot dog. Only came here as daughter is coeliac so wanted to go somewhere which sounded like they took care over what they feed people, but was beyond disappointed with this experience which left me feeling sick for a long while after having eaten some of the mince before realising it was in fact meat which I’ve not eaten for 26 years! Very unapologetic just an attitude of ‘it is what it is’. Everyone’s meals were slammed down on the table. People who ordered a special which came with bread and butter and a hot drink didn’t get the bread and butter ‘as they didn’t ask for it!’ - asking to be given the rest of what was ordered and paid for resulted in an argument with the waitress where we were made to feel like we were asking for something extra and virtually made to plead for it! Absolutely ridiculous really. Awful attitude and terrible customer service. Would never return!

Really impressed with our experience at Mister Chips. We were a large group of 20 with 3 dogs and one coeliac. We were in the area on holiday and having heard Whitby did the best fish and chips in the country, we wanted to try it out. They managed to sit us all together no problem. The staff were friendly and service was swift. The food was absolutely delicious and my niece was delighted there was lots of gf options she could have. It was some of the best fish and chips most of us have had and decent value. If I'm ever in the area again I would definitely go back.

Great fish and chips, and coffee. Gluten free available on request which was brilliant, and very reasonable prices.
