We came to Monteverde to celebrate a huge milestone—my partners successful PhD defense—and it was, hands down, one of the most memorable meals of our lives. From start to finish, the experience was absolutely exceptional. Monteverde was one of the few fine-dining spots in Chicago that (1) welcomed a group of 10 without requiring a pricey private room, (2) offered a wide range of delicious vegetarian options, and (3) had truly outstanding gluten-free dishes. Several family members who are gluten-free could not believe how good the pasta was—it was completely indistinguishable from the regular version. My uncle even said it might have been the best meal of his life. The staff went above and beyond to make our night special. They created a custom printed menu with the title of my partners thesis listed at the top (which we kept as a keepsake), and were so patient and kind with our group, including older family members and various dietary needs. Every detail—from the thoughtful service to the beautifully prepared food—was impeccable. Chicago is known for being a foodie city, and Monteverde proves why. A huge thank you to the amazing chefs and waitstaff for giving us such a magical and delicious evening. We’ll never forget it. Bravo!

Superb dining experience. Superior, discreet service. Delicious burrata (with gluten free polenta stick for GF diner), white/green asparagus salad, alcohol free spritz, and butterscotch budino. Pleasant sitting outside on cloudy but mild day. Was promoted on Somebody Feed Phil, and totally lived up to Phil’s recommendation.
