Mountain Beak Street

The Elizabeth line was closed, the central line was running, but with huge delays. And when we finally fought our way out of Oxford Circus tube station, the Christmas shopping crowds were packed along Regents Street. Thank goodness once we arrived at Mountain things improved. We were seated immediately and all of the staff who served us were relaxed and friendly. They knew exactly how to deal with my Coeliac disease, marking the menu with dishes I could and couldn't have and the ones they could alter for me so that I could enjoy them. And the food was delicious, stand outs were the raw scallops and monkfish and the spider crab omelette. I had a negroni and we shared a bottle of Spanish white wine. Sadly the journey home was just as bad. A shame, but it hasn't put us off the idea of returning. The food is that good!
