My son, who is coeliac and has a very severe reaction to gluten, was told that the cakes labelled may contain gluten would be ok because they didn’t contain “active” gluten. There aren’t two versions of gluten; active and inactive. Of course, he knew not to have one but newly diagnosed coeliacs might not. We went to the gelato shop just down the hill instead and they were very knowledgeable and helpful about gluten free food.

More staff are needed! I queued for 30mins and just before I placed my order they ran out of cookies! The gluten free choc ganache double cookie sandwich (which I know and love) had already ran out so I had to choose something else from the menu. The poor solo staff member Steph was rushed off her feet but kept her cool until the reinforcement Holly arrived. Such a shame because I've come up from Exeter and thought I'd have a nice trip to Mrs Potts but I think perhaps I'll stick to only visiting when I go to the Bath shop!
