O'bella!

A friend and I decided to take a drive and eat at Obellas. The drive is about 200 miles round trip. We have eaten here many times as they have gluten free options which is a must for me as I am Celiac. Today I ordered the Chicken Picata, it was supposed to come with mashed potatoes. The waitress put our order in and then came back to say they didn’t have mashed potatoes, so they offered pasta and said I could have butter, Alfredo or a marinara. I picked the Alfredo. Our diner came and I noticed my Alfredo was very salty. My friend ordered Chicken Marsala. I asked how hers was and she said it was really salty. We did mention it to the cook and they offered to remake it but we declined. When the check came I noticed I had been charged for the Alfredo. We mentioned it to the waitress and she said she had to charge because she got in trouble for not charging another customer. I feel the waitress was put in a bad spot, and didn’t want to mention that I would be charged an extra 9.00 because the mashed potatoes weren’t available. This was extremely disappointing as the food is usually quite good. They offer multiple gluten free options, including meatballs, pastas, pizza and salads.

Great meal. Menu was clearly marked with what was, or could be, gluten free. Our server was attentive and helpful. I had a spinach salad with chicken. The chicken was lightly breaded with rice flour. The salad was nicely balanced with flavor. Highly recommend.

Amazing food. Lots of Delicious gluten free options. Casual atmosphere with fine dining options and quality. Service was excellent.
