OKO - Fun Okonomiyaki Bar

A super quirky place!! The decor is really cool! At first, it took us a while to understand the system, but then it was great! My little one is celiac and was able to eat without any problems because they understand cross-contamination! Something that doesn't happen very often around here. I also got a vegan okonimiyaki, which was delicious. They come in two sizes: M and L. Despite ordering M, we couldn't finish them, but they're prepared. There are trays where you can get as many containers as you need, and a bag to carry it in. The experience was very pleasant.

This woman is adorable and has a ton of personality. She’s a boss and figured out that tourists have food allergies and has created this quirky little restaurant with build your own ononomiyaki which is native to Osaka. I’m not a huge fan of okonomiyaki but I’m a huge fan of the restaurant, the space she’s created, the awareness for people with allergies and the gluten free beer was some of the best we have had.

This place is a must visit for anyone coming to Dotonbori! An absolute blessing for gluten free tourists, but definitely worth visiting for those without dietaries too. It’s so funky, yummy, good value, and personalised by the owner (who runs everything by herself). It feels very unique and bursting with love at every corner. おおきに Shiho-Chan !
