In town for work, first time trying Oak & Pie. Atmosphere was nice, sat at the bar and the bartender, Emma, was fantastic - great service and checked on her patrons regularly to make sure they had what they needed. Regarding the food, I had the Soprano Italiano pizza with the optional gluten-free crust. While the flavor of the toppings and garlic paste was great, I felt the toppings were a bit light, and the gluten-free crust was probably the worst I’ve ever had. Let’s face it, gluten-free is not anywhere near as good as a traditional gluten pizza crust, so I knew that I was going to sacrifice some texture and flavor going GF. On top of not great texture and flavor, the GF crust was an additional $7.49 up charge, which is probably three times higher than I have paid anywhere else. I’m sure the standard pizza is fantastic, but my recommendation would be to maybe source Udi’s GF crust as an alternative to what is currently offered.
