I called to discuss their protocols for handling a gluten alergy as my best friend has celiac disease. When I asked they said "yeah we have a gluten free menu" I explained I'm aware but I want to know if they have the correct protocols in their kitchen to prevent cross contamination as even a small amount can absolutely destroy someone with celiac. They said "Uh uh... yeah." It didn't seem confident so i didnt feel comfortable with that answer. I ended up calling back and asking to talk to one of the cooks. The lady who originally answered said "yeah, hold on." someone else ended up getting on the phone and asked if I needed help. I explained i already talked to someone and I was hoping to talk to a cook about alergy protocols in the kitchen. Her response in a rude tone... "we don't let our cooks talk on the phone." I said "okay, we will go somewhere else then because alergies can be life threatening and this is a serious matter." She hung up on me before I could finish that sentence. It reminds me how much the world just doesn't care.
